Grand Illusion week one

Just some sewing of blocks to finish off this evening, I am only making half the units.
The colours are a bit washed out but it is a another overcast day.
I am not doing scrappy this year, I do not have enough stash, yet.
I'm looking forward to tomorrows next installment, I can always use what I haven't finished today as leaders and enders.

This is a working link to Bonnie's link post, I hope.

Pass it Forward

If there is anybody out there I did not have any major catastrophes, life is good but busy.
Although I have been sewing I spent more time at my allotment, with better results on the produce side.  I'm still clearing up the plot ready for winter.
I will show photos of my sewing soon, when I've sorted out downloading photos.

I would like to thank Felicia (the slow quilter) for the lovely package that arrived yesterday. A while ago I had replied to a Pass It Forward post and I was a lucky recipient. Here is a very poor photo taken during the best of a foggy, dreary November day. It does not do the fabrics or colours justice.
The rug mat is already in use.
The charm pack is Daydream by Kate Spain for Moda and the beautifully decorated tweezers are just what I need to remove the fluff from my machines.
I would like to pass it forward to three more readers, I will send to the first three comments, so long as they are not a no reply blogger. You would then pass it forward to three readers of your blog.
Well that's as clear as mud.
I do hope to be back to more frequent blogging, I have a backlog of photos of projects to share.

February NEW FO

I have been busy sewing but not showing those photos today, just February New FO .
This is the January block from Craftsy 2013 x2 and 2 partial blocks.

In reverse order, the colours washed out but I am fairly happy with them. I hope to finish the last two tomorrow, I ran out of the narrow strips.
I need to state what I am going to start in March,
I will start my DIL' s Christmas stocking, in the hopes of finishing it before December.
Happy sewing.

2014 New FO Challenge January

Well just by the skin of my teeth.  Here is my Craftsy BOM January 2012 block. Great fun trying a new to me technique, stitch and slash.

Light was bad because of yet more rain.
I have cut out the next three blocks ready to sew tomorrow.

FAL Q1 2014

I hope I can join this noble enterprise. I have just taken some rubbish photos, evenings are not good for clear photos.
My first and easiest finish would be to complete the binding on this mini quilt.
No. 1     Temecula 12 Days of Christmas
I hope to get a better picture to show off the true colours, when I've finished it.

Next is my EPP thread catcher. Half completed.
No.2 EPP Thread Catcher
Again, these are not the true colours.

My most ambitious and one I'm still cutting some of the pieces for is Celtic Solstice.
No. 3 Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice
I am learning so much making this quilt.

Finally there is my Hexagon sewing machine.
No. 4 Hexagon Sewing Machine
Again half done.
So, if I'm accepted, these are my projects for the first FAL
